A Charity Golf Event Unlike Any Other

Known as the “Masters” of charity golf tournaments, The Gladney Cup champions the mission and history of The Gladney Center for Adoption. For 135 years, Gladney has been serving families and creating bright futures through adoption. Driven by the desire to help more families grow like his own, one Gladney father championed the idea of a golf tournament to bennefit adoption at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. From that idea, The Gladney Cup was born, a biennial charity event, where attendees gather for a PGA TOUR experience and play at only the greatest U.S. Open Courses. In the 23-year history of The Gladney Cup, more than $12 million has been raised in support of the Gladney Center for Adoption.

The Experience

The Gladney Cup offers its players an opportunity to experience the most prestigious and challenging courses in the U.S. with all the amenities of a PGA golfer, including caddies, marshals, and the ambiance of a professional tour event. In addition to tournament play, golfers and spouses are treated to a weekend of events and celebrations leading up to the tournament that ensures their experience will be one they will always remember.

The Format

The Gladney Cup tournament is played by foursomes. They are scored by the two best balls per foursome. The foursome net score includes all handicaps and determines the winners of the tournament. Additionally, all foursomes are split into two teams for a Ryder Cup format scored using each foursome’s net score. The real-time electronic leader-board tracks the progress of each foursome throughout the tournament.

The History

The idea for The Gladney Cup golf tournament began in 1999 with a Gladney Dad, who wanted to give back to the organization who helped build his family through adoption.
