VOLUNTEER FOR ADOPTION
Opportunities like this don't come around often! On Friday, October 2nd and Monday, October 5th, The Gladney Center for Adoption will be holding its sixth biennial Gladney Cup on two of America's most prestigious U.S. Open golf courses - Bethpage Black on Long Island and Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck.
This year's tournament will welcome 300 golfers from all over the U.S. As noted by Jim Nantz, CBS Sportscaster, during our event at Winged Foot in 2001, "it is an event unlike any other... by far the best non-Tour event I've been involved with!" ... and we'd like you to share the same sentiments!
To insure the success of this year's tournament, we will need over 300 volunteers. Your help during the day of the tournament would be sincerely appreciated. You will help bring Gladney families together while promoting the mission of Gladney - Creating Bright Futures Around the World. Proceeds from the tournament will not only help find permanent homes for children but also provide support to thousands of children in orphanages around the world.
There are a variety of volunteer opportunities for you to choose from and you do not have to have golf knowledge to help. We are looking for people who could give their time anywhere from 4 hours to all day either on Friday, October 2nd or Monday, October 5th.
Here are a few of the positions that need to be filled.
- Scorers - Walk with a foursome during their round of golf, keeping score on a handheld electronic scoring device.
- Registration - Register the golfers as they arrive at the course verifying information and directing them to the gift area, lockers, course, etc.
- Gift Distribution - Distribute a variety of player's gifts to each participant.
